Slippery Carpet?

Posted by David Mittelman at 03/01/2001 10:05 PM EST

Student on team #236, Techno Ticks, from Lyme-Old Lyme High School and Millstone Nuclear Power Station.

Has anyone noticed that the carpet on the ramp is strangely slippery? A number of teams at the New England Regional in Hartford have had traction problems including us. When we practiced before we shipped we had no problem, no we seem to be having some problems. No worry however, we have found a solution around it. I just thought I'd point it out. Maybe it's something to bring up...

......UTC this year was such a contrast from UTC last year, because last year it was in late March...when we had heat & sun & stuff like that. Now, we have snow & rain & chilliness.

To get more teams at UTC, FIRST took some of the tents they use at Nats & made a pit area for all the teams from 200 + (ironically).

I was amazed at how your team dealt with the rain coming in, kudos to you!

Your soaked pit-partners,
Jessica B, #237
