Re: 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition

9/30/14 is the last day for the 24 teams from last year to register and pay to guarantee a spot. Four of them have not registered yet and may not be returning. There are 3 new teams on wait list. If you are interested, please signup.

I will be making an important announcement on October 1st. If you cannot wait, you can go to the FIRST in Michigan website to find out. It is already posted on our event page.

Re: 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition

I believe 910 is one of those from last year you haven't heard from yet. As far as I know we were not planning on returning due to several conflicts that prevent us from bringing enough students or mentors. (Hopefully this is right)

Re: 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition

I am happy to announce together with FRC teams 469, 33 and 68 that the 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition will be offering college scholarships of $1000 each to high school seniors who are female members of the teams that are competing at this event. There is a deadline to submit the essay. Details can be found under Event Information at http://www.firstinmichigan.us/FRC_20...offseason.html

Event schedule and modified rules of the robot game Aerial Assist have also been posted.

Thirty one teams have registered and there is still one spot left.

Re: 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition

Congratulations to Team 1023, 33, 862 and 3547 for winning the event this year.
Congratulations to the four young ladies who won $1000 of college scholarship each. If you want to thank somebody, you should thank all the awesome volunteers who put this event together since the scholarship money comes from the net proceeds of this tournament. There were many deserving students to win these scholarships but we were limited by the amount of funds we have.
I hope everyone had a good time. Our goal was to create a fun event with minimal rules and relaxed atmosphere.
Next year we are moving to the remodeled high school building with a new gym with 1600 seating capacity. If there is increased demand, we should be able to fit more teams in.
I also want to thank all the volunteers who worked hard to put on this event. Michigan is blessed with so many experienced volunteers who make it look easy running an event of this magnitude.

Re: 2014 Bloomfield Girls Robotics Competition

This was an awesome event and Cyber Blue plans to return in 2015.

Everyone had a great time, learned and enjoyed a fun, but competitive event.

Thank you to everyone who made it happen and to the 31 other teams who made for great matches.

Thank you for coming all the way from Indiana. I am glad to hear that your team enjoyed the event. The 4 organizing teams had a great time working together to make this happen. I do hope you will come again next year.
