Please help one of our schools win $1000
Our team (456) is a community team made up of students from all the schools in our area (public, private, and home schools). Several of our students attend St. Aloysius High School including our Team Captain. A couple of our students also play on the St. Al football team including our Robot Captain. The St. Al football team is playing for the Mississippi 1A State Football Championship this Friday at Mississippi State University. A large number of our team will be traveling up to support our teammates and cheer them on. Blue Cross & Blue Shield is giving away $1000 to the school that gets the most votes as part of the Championship Game.
Please consider helping St. Al win $1000 by texting your vote. All you have to do is text “Gridiron2” to 55333 Limit one text per phone number per day. Winning is simple: the school with the most votes (texts) at the end of third quarter of its championship game wins. THANK YOU!!! |

Re: Please help one of our schools win $1000
Preface: I already texted, because what the heck, why not?
Question: does your robotics team receive any of the $1,000 or does that money go to the football / athletic department? |

Re: Please help one of our schools win $1000
St. Al instituted an odd (if you ask me) policy a couple years ago that all fundraising money goes into one pot and is divided "equally" among the school programs/teams/activites. It seems kind of like communism to me but that's what they decided. I'm just a mentor on our robotics team and don't really understand how it works. The band is apparently excluded and has to fund raise on their own which they do quite successfully through concession stand sales at the home football games. Since our robotics team is not actually "part of" St. Al. but rather a community team of students from all over our area and just include a lot of St. Al students we don't get a piece of that pie. The $1000 would go into the general "pot" to help all of the school programs (except the band) at St. Al as far as I know.
