Talking T811 Modular Control Board 2015 Revamp!

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year!

I have some news for CD. Parts are here!!! (*News at bottom)

If you didn't see the initial thread, it's here:http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=131343

Allow me to summarize the last thread:
The T811 is a completely modular control board system that has a wiring sublevel that protects your wires and keeps your board clean and sharp looking. Hardware pieces are secured with a clip system that is competition tested. It allows for easy tool-less (flat heads make it super easy on fingers) removal and relocation of components. This is great for prototyping/development or if a part fails at competition.

The system also is designed to condense the controls footprint. The pegboard in each picture is the size board used on a AMU2014 kit long configuration. Lots of free space

The top piece is the "Mount" which bolts to your components. Mounts have built in nut catches. It is compatible with all hardware components, except the jaguar motor controller.

The base piece, the "Cell", bolts to your robot. The Cell has a lip system so that they can form a grid together. This lip system allows you to use less bolts (even though bolting each Cell to the board is strongly recommended). Each Cell also has slots for two Anderson Powerpole Connectors to be locked down, making your board completely modular in the wiring.

Re: T811 Modular Control Board 2015 Revamp!

News since last thread:

-After several requests, a 20 set kit is now being offered.

$60 MSRP, now available on site.

http://t811modulus.com/order/

-"Why is the center a 1/4x20 bolt? That's overkill." Cells now are predrilled for #10 bolts. This still works for a peg board, but alignment takes slightly more care. If you prefer the larger bolt, simply drill the hole out larger.

-"How much does it weigh?"

a kit of 30 sets= 2.65 lbs
a kit of 20 sets= 1.85 lbs

-"Looks like you can fit 2 new motor controllers on a mount"
You can! CAD available for adapter plates will be released later this week.

-Still not sure how you feel about it? Two of the Ri3D teams will be using the T811 and will give their feedback

-The manual is being revised. It will be available for kickoff and will be designed for time efficiency.

-Early parts may be green or black. This was due to plastic availability during the first run. All others will be natural ABS, which is paint friendly.

The T811 is now available on AndyMark! It already has a 5 star review

http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2926.htm

Order there to receive a kit for this year's build.
