Smile Are these pneumatic storage tanks legal in 2015?

From trying to search and being a bit confused, we wanted to make sure what we have is perfectly legal to use!

We are currently using the Clippard Minimatic Airpower tanks (2012 & 2011) as well as the Clippard Minimatic Airpower tanks AVT-32-16 for our pneumatics system. Are these considered illegal or are they perfectly fine for the game?

Thank you all so much for all the help.

Re: Are these pneumatic storage tanks legal in 2015?

What color are they? If they are Clippard plastic tanks, and are white, then they are illegal. Otherwise, they just need to be rated for 125 PSI (R64)

They're metal as well as silver, thankfully. Thank you!

Re: Are these pneumatic storage tanks legal in 2015?

Where can we get a definitive answer on the question of legality on the white Clippard plastic air tanks? We heard last year they were not legal but we used them and passed all inspections with no questions and have not had any issues. We are planning on using them again this year but if they are for sure not legal we will switch them out. Just trying to not spend more money if we don't have to.
Thanks

They were legal last year. However, if the RI's saw them on your robot, they HIGHLY recommended that you exchange them for free for black tanks.

Since FIRST gave them to you, it would be hard for them to then make them illegal. Most teams could easily swap out a tank, so it was not an issue. If the tank would be hard to swap out, then the RI could let you play.

This year, FIRST told you going in to the competition that the white tanks are illegal, so if an RI finds a white tank, they can make you swap it out.
