Can you use the secondary pressure regulator instead of the primary?

I was trying to put the pneumatic system together and happened to not have a primary pressure regulator. I had gone to andymark.com and did not see it there. so i am asking can you use the secondary pressure regulator instead of the primary?

Re: Can you use the secondary pressure regulator instead of the primary?

Quote:
R71 “Working” air pressure on the ROBOT must be no greater than 60 psi and must be provided through one primary adjustable,
relieving, pressure regulator, relieving, pressure regulator.
and the blue box says:

Quote:
Norgren regulator P/N: R07-100-RNEA or Monnier P/N: 101-3002-1 recommended.
Which sounds to me like they have a typo but if the "secondary" regulator you have meets the 125 psi requirement, and is a relieving pressure regulator, it should be ok. Keep in mind that I'm not the Q&A.

You can use any pressure regulator, provided it meets the R71 and R66G specs. FIRST has helpfully recommended a couple of regulators, but does not require their use.

I would also point out that AndyMark does have the Norgren pressure regulator. http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2020.htm

Also, a secondary pressure regulator is generally used after the primary regulator to further restrict pressure if one or more components cannot handle the pressure coming off of the primary regulator.
