1559's Rules Test

Hey, I wrote this for potential candidates for our drive team this year. You can give it to whoever you want on your team, I guess. It's really up to you. I graded them by number of points wrong rather than number right or by a percentage, but you can do whatever you want again.

There's 50 questions, with about half being short answer and the other half multiple choice. Our best score (so far) is 9 wrong, and our average is a little less than 17 wrong. You're not expected to know every answer, but if you do you're basically crazy good with the rules.

Both the quiz and the answer key are in .docx and .pdf formats.

Re: 1559's Rules Test

It is a very good test. Some questions are way out there and very tricky to read.

I took this and got a 45/50

Re: 1559's Rules Test

I like it! These are good questions

If we're being super technical, I have a few suggestions:
4.) Build Season is 6 weeks and three days long
8.) Both a and d are correct answers; nothing prevents you from manipulating gray totes in auto mode
35.) is wrong, average points are used, not total number of points (Qualification Average)
41.) There is always a dimensional limit on the robot; maximum height cannot exceed 78"

So it should be B and D?

I mean I guess. You could go the AP route and say that Recycling Containers and Yellow Totes is the best answer, therefore it is the correct answer.

Re: 1559's Rules Test

Okay, here is the updated answer key.

I guess I can't edit the old post for some reason.

Re: 1559's Rules Test

Nice job on coming up with a quiz!!!!

I think the answer given in the key for 35 may not be correct.

35. In competitions, how is your seed determined for playoffs?
a. Win/loss ratio
b. Total number of points
c. Average number of points in a match
d. OPR

The answer given is b

The first order sort for seeding is "qualification average"

I think this would be C above... although the wording is not quite right.

What do you think?

Woops, that was a leftover mistake from when I made edits to the quiz a few days ago. The correct answer is indeed C. I memorized the answers so I didn't actually use the answer key besides the first two tests.

It's a cool test, but for drive team I think you should focus more on penalties and not just ways you gain points but ways you lose them. This will really help you out at a competition, just knowing the penalties.
