Oh come on... are you really NOT going to have a giant hand on the end of that pole. It would look pretty funny if you did.

Re: Container? What container??-4976 Teaser
Looks great, guys! Fast and reliable. One note though- its difficult to tell from the video whether or not your arm is extending past the step. If the arm does extend past the step (even slightly), and hits an opposing robot, it could be considered a violation of G18

Re: Container? What container??-4976 Teaser
Thanks guys. Yes a risk for G18 but if all goes to plan we'll only be across the step in autonomous

Re: Container? What container??-4976 Teaser
This method can go to hell in a hand-basket if someone is pulling the can up at an angle, especially if this arm doesn't beat the opponent's. It's a risk you take with auto, I guess?

Re: Container? What container??-4976 Teaser
Do you have a plan to manipulate the overturned RC onto a stack of scored totes, or are you just denying it to the opposing alliance?

Re: Container? What container??-4976 Teaser
Yes a risk we'll take I guess. Plan is to get to the container first, the arm action is about 1-2 seconds. We tested tug of war scenarios and we have a firm grip on the container. The hooks do let go before the robot gets tippy so that is a plus.
As for knocked over containers, yes we have a mechanism to right them and place them on stacks |
