Go to Post I got something totally different from my FIRST experience. to me the spirit of FIRST is all about sharing. during the 6 week build period, you share yourself with the other people on your team. at the competition, you share your creation with everyone who watches your 'bot play the game. - George1902 [more]

NE FIRST Pioneer District event

Pioneer District event being held in Springfield Massachusetts at the Mass mutual center is going to prove to be another competitive event. Now that a week is over and done with many people may have noticed a few things for NE particularly
1. Auto points are going to rank you high, very few teams can score auto points, if you can stack 3 yellow totes, by yourself you are in for a really good ranking.
2. Littler is a game changer as seen in Waterbury litter could easily gain you 30-40 points so being able to move the litter into the landfill with be huge.
3. stacking a 6 stack with container may seem like the way to go, but i think as the events progress we are going to see less possibly down to a 3-4 stack with a cap .

Sure bets:
175- a Hall of Fame team that is constantly a threat for a blue banner this team is always competitive and consistently builds a great robot.

177- Coming off a phenomenal season a year ago winning three events, this team is always one that designs a unique robot. looking forward to see what they came up with this year.

2168-always a powerhouse team with a great drive team. This team always builds a competitive robot, and the drive team is always able to get the most out of it. ` `

316- This MAR district team has a long history of success. With a pair of blue banners from last year, look for this team to sneak into the finals as a team many from New England may not be familiar with.

Sleepers-
181- A very smart team, and one of my personal favorites to play on the field with, this team could easily come up with a strategy capable of making it to the finals.

839- this team has a great robot every year, and although they don't have the blue banners to show for it, you always have to put this team on your radar. look for Rosie to be stacking stack in eliminations.

4048- Red shift is a young team with alot of potential still looking for there elusive first win. they had a breakout season last year making it too eliminations in all the events they competed at while also winning at Battle-cry a year ago, look for this team to be competitive again this year.

176-I saw this team at Waterbury and they were a very effective robot being ranked 6th with an average score of 55.67, look for this team to have an advantage being one of a few team having played in an event already.

716- I was going to Leave this team out due to Bias but I couldn't. Coming off a great season last year Who’Ctecks went with a unique design, being able to grab 2 RC containers off the step in auto is proven to be a nice characteristic in a robot. look for this team to being playing Saturday afternoon.

Re: NE FIRST Pioneer District event

Great analysis. I think your auto/litter/stack predictions are true for most events, not just NE ones - we've seen the same thing in the PNW.
