Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
Introducing FRC Pokemon, where you can pick (catch) wild robots and face gym trainers around the world, such as Karthik or JVN. I have rushed an alpha version of the game so you guys have something to do on the way to champs. But I don't want to spoil the official release, so I am only handing out the alpha version to people who message me on CD, have a reputation on CD, and have intentions to report bugs and recommendations.
![]() The alpha version includes: Currently only one town (unnamed) Arena (gym) with a boss (Karthik) Catch wild robots in the grass Pits (pokecenter) where you repair your robots Store Hotel (Inn) School Evolution of robots: Works in tiers, 2013: tier 1 -> 2014 tier 2 - > 2015 tier 3 So robots evolve to their next years robot which their attacks deal more damage Current robots: 2013: 254: Overkill 624: Thor 1983: Ult. Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
I'm interested in this game, seems fun. I do have quite a few good exploits I can try out, will report the results.

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
how did you decide which teams to put in the alpha?

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
I'm guessing some of the good teams, and teams with good photographs, and probably his own team. (For example, Cheesy Poofs have white backgrounds on robots so it's easy to add to the game)

For all of you who are having trouble using the exe to unzip the game, just open it in WinRAR and extract the contents of the exe.

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
One of our students suggested that maybe add some national woodie flowers award winners in as the elite 4? ex: Paul Copioli?

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
This is pretty ambitious but it would be cool if you could travel to different parts of the world and the wild robots that you get there would be the teams in that state (or region)

This. The world map should be split up into regions such as NE, MAR, PNW, Texas, Michigan, California, Indiana, etc. Would be cool to have gym leaders or wild robots from their respective areas.

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
The starting teams (624, 1983, 1986) were chosen because were consistent throughout the last three years as well as they are well known. Picking one of the three will be tricky since they have different skill curves. 624: starting slow, gets much better after each evolution. 1983: stays consistent through all evolution's. 1986: starting strong, but slowing down threw the evolution's.
Big powerhouse teams (1114, 254 ect) will be more legendary (like mewtwo) As for less of known teams will be the common wild robots that you catch and train. |

Re: Introducing FRC Pokemon, alpha testers wanted
You may want to make different versions of the game for different years, that way it is less confusing because there aren't multiple roots of the same number.
Also, have the really good robots be rare, and have relatively minor teams be more common. |
