[OCCRA]: Competition Dimensions of Game Balls?

Dear OCCRA -

May we know target dimensions of balls to be used in the game? At least one careful reader on our team noted that the 8-Ball and cue ball are described as "approximately 26” in diameter" in the text of the Rules - then as 25" in the Kit of Materials list!

So, what should we use as a target diameter - or better, circumference - for these end-of-game balls, and for 16" game balls?

(Note: Heed 16" game ball advice "DO NOT OVERINFLATE." Our sample ball went significantly different from spherical quickly after hitting about 16" diameter.)

Re: [OCCRA]: Competition Dimensions of Game Balls?

The 8-Ball and the Cue-ball were advertised as 65.0 cm balls (25.6"). The actual size of the ones we were sent, however, is less because the cloth covers limit the inflation. The 8-Ball inflated to a maximum size of 23.5" and the Cue-Ball inflated to a maximum size of @24". So, design your robot to be able to handle balls that range from 23.5 to 24" in diameter (59.7 - 61.0 cm). The circumference will therefore be pi times this (73.8 - 75.4 inches.)
