Team Classroom, Shops or Labs Picture Wanted

We are a new FTC & FRC Team in Southeast MI and we just got approved to use a dedicated room in our school building for our teams.

I am looking for inspiration on setting things up. Any picture of your team room would be appreciated !

Thanks in advance,

Coach Seb

Re: Team Classroom, Shops or Labs Picture Wanted

We have several pics of our new build space accessible through the tweets visible on our website. Some of the latest whole-room pics have not yet been posted.

In any case, we are expecting to have exclusive use of our build site this year, so we are setting up five workbenches in our 20' x 30' space:
  • Soldering/crimping (3'x 4')
  • Manipulator/Detail 1 (3' x 5')
  • Manipulator/Detail 2 (3' x 5')
  • Chassis 1 (4' x 6')
  • Chassis 2 (4' x 6')
This is in addition to our storage areas in the build site: 3' x 12' for stock, 2.5' x 4' for pneumatics, 3' x 4' for mechanical pats, and 2.5' x 4' for miscellaneous parts.

The idea is that each project can "leave materials" at their workbench, and expect to have easy access to them the next build session. We also plan to have a full set of "commonly used tools" at each table stored in pegboard in the sides of each table, with "less-used tools" available at the tool chest, and "shop tools" available in the shop area. Safety items (glasses, gloves, and first aid) will be available at each table. At least two fire extinguishers will definitely be available in the room; we have not yet decided if we will have one at each table.

We are still buillding tables, so I can't give any serious advice as to how wel this works. Maybe in a few months...
