Re: New Website!

I love the content you've got - it's excellent. The website is pretty busy visually, so finding a way to make things simpler and direct visitors' eyes would be ideal. The sponsor logos on either side definitely add to this--would it be possible to move those somewhere else? (If that's part of your sponsorship deals, then no worries.)

Re: New Website!

A few comments:

The background image makes text hard to read because the shaded/translucent content box isn't dark enough.

Recommend getting a domain name, we're not going to remember "wix.com". You can get a free one (and even free hosting) from Dreamhost as a nonprofit organization.

It would be great to see more information about the team -- you do so many things and have so many projects, and the pictures are a nice reference but it would be great to learn a little bit about team history, ambitions, and involvement from the site.

Re: New Website!

Not bad. For one I wouldnt use a background image with people. Some metal a robot whatever would be fine but people isnt good. The sponsor logos also make it look really busy and ugly so I would move them to a different page or center them beneath the main box.

I made our teams site with wix so check it out.

Re: New Website!

The people above have already made some great points so there is no need to repeat, I only have a few additions.

You guys are using the free publicity provided to you from the book, documentary, and movie about the team from 2004, build on that. People not familiar with your team, FIRST or MATE might find your page due to that exposure. Instead of just plugs for the various mediums of the story, expand the story, let them "meet" the original team, the robot, and then use that as a hook to get them to explore the rest of the site.

Also, we all know that sponsorship and donations are needed for all we do, but it can come off negatively if you have your request for donations front and center on the home page.
