BAG Motor with VersaPlanetary Gearbox two stage purchasing method?

Hello,

I'm planning on buying a two stage gearbox, namely the VersaPlanetary gearbox from VEXPRO that is to be fitted with a BAG Motor. I'm looking at the purchasing options and am very confused as to what exactly I have to buy, Can someone help me out? Here's what I want specifically:

100:1 Gear Ratio
1/2" HEX Output
BAG Motor Compatibility

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,

Mohammad Al-Ahdal

This is assuming you don't already have the BAG motor.

If you already have the BAG motor, uncheck the last box. Your prices might be a bit different as you'll be on the Canadian version of the VEXPro page.

Thanks! That's what I thought too but then I saw the image and thought why does it only include the gears?

Re: BAG Motor with VersaPlanetary Gearbox two stage purchasing method?

EDIT: Rahul beat me to it

http://www.vexrobotics.com/versaplanetary.html

Go to this URL and check the same boxes I have in the image.

This should be everything you need, including the BAG motor. If you already have the motor, then uncheck that last box.

To mount it you just use the two free holes in the output block to mount to a plate, tube, etc. (they're 8-32 clearance holes).

If you end up deciding to change what motor you want on the gearbox, the package comes with the mounting plates for the BAG, 775, 550, and AM 90-15. If you ever decide you need to change the ratio, all you need to do is buy the necessary gear kit stages. To buy just those select from only the middle section: "Gear Kit with Ring Gear Options".

Hope this helps.

Re: BAG Motor with VersaPlanetary Gearbox two stage purchasing method?

Just a heads up, if you haven't used VersaPlanetary Gearboxes before, be prepared for a ton of spare parts. They're designed to be versatile, so naturally, you won't use all the parts you get in the box. It can seem a little worrisome if you're used to kits without many spare parts to all of a sudden have a bunch of extras.

Haha yeah I've actually barely done any mechanical. The closest thing I do to mechanical is the design this is my first year actually working on mechanical and buying parts and so it's not as simple as saying, "We need this and this it how it works". Thanks a lot guys!
