Re: 360fly 360-degree camera

Hi folks,

The students are extremely engaged this year with FIRST Stronghold and they've been coming up with very creative strategies so far. Our group was wondering if there would be any issues (bandwidth; etc) with using a 360FLY camera (immersive, interactive 3D video feed) with the robot. Apologies in advance if I have not placed this question in the proper sub forum. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks !

Re: 360fly 360-degree camera

The Game Manual says that the field will limit an individual robot's bandwidth to 7Mbps. At some events it may be lower because of wireless interference.

The Driver's Station section of the Game Manual has crucial details you'll need in order to get any camera working.

Re: 360fly 360-degree camera

Interesting device, but I couldn't find info that made me think it would send live feeds. It seems their primary market is as a 360 deg view goPro. So while that would provide some cool promo video, it won't help with operating the robot. Also, you cannot stream the video over wifi if/when that is allowed.

I found the Jan 5 announcement from CES of a 360FLY camera that is 4k capable and offers libs streaming, but I doubt it can be used this year.

Anyway, be sure that it works for how you intend to use it.
