Hexagonal Chassis Design

Hello!

I read a bit about hexagonal chassis and am considering trying it out this year. I would like some advice.

How would you design an hexagonal drive?
Which is preferred: regular rectangular frame and and hex bumpers vs hex frame and hex bumpers?

I heard some mentioning using sheet metal for it, is it needed / preferred? What about making the bumpers themselves?

Thanks a lot!

Tomer

If you're running vex versa frame stuff building a hex out of aluminium wouldn't be impossible. why not just stick with a rectangular design? Defense? I doubt the amount of pinning/contact in this game will be huge.

Re: Hexagonal Chassis Design

We did hexagonal for an offseason, but with the defenses for this game, I see it better to just go rectangular
