Can you use a 3D printer to make hubs for a boulder shooter?

Not being familiar with 3D printers, would 3D printed hubs work on wheels that are being used on a boulder shooter? What plastic would you use? Thanks

Re: Can you use a 3D printer to make hubs for a boulder shooter?

In the past, we have made 3D printed hubs for wheels on our drivetrain, and I see no reason why you couldn't do it for wheels on a boulder shooter.
We just used standard ABS plastic, and actually, our 3D printed parts on our robot last year held up better than some ordered plastic parts from Andymark...
Overall, 3D printed hubs are a solid choice if you need something that is decently customizable, easy to make in-house, fairly cheap, and durable.
