Versa Planetary SRX Encoder

Does anyone have any experience using this? http://www.vexrobotics.com/217-5046.html

We're using versa planetaries on a shooter, and we want to make sure it's worth the $100 it'll cost to get 2.

So, any experiences, good or bad?
