How to configure talon SRX CAN ID?
This is the first year that we are using talon SRX's. I recently figured out that CAN has an ID. Does each motor controller on the chain have an ID? How do I change/figure out what the ID is? I went to the NI Webdash but I couldn't find a place to change the IDs, it only said that the IDs were all the same for each motor controller.
Thanks! |

Re: How to configure talon SRX CAN ID?
There should be a place on the individual device page to alter the CAN ID. Each device should have a unique ID.

Re: How to configure talon SRX CAN ID?
You set the CAN IDs through the RoboRIO web interface.
Once you change the ID on one of the Talons, use the RoboRIO web interface to get it to blink (I don't remember exactly what/where that is) and then stick a label on it so you know its ID. |

Re: How to configure talon SRX CAN ID?
I recommend reading section 2 of the Talon SRX Software Reference Manual.

Re: How to configure talon SRX CAN ID?
If you have already wired all of your talons, you should just pull the breakers for them and go through one by one to assign them. It seems like the roborio can only handle a few Talons that share the same ID.
