WEEEE!
We got to finals finally (no pun intended, really)! I'll tell ya, we were running great all day, went 5 for 5 in the qual rounds. We seed first, and the whole team is thrilled. So they call the team reps onto the field. I go down when they call 95 as the first seed. I get down there, and a minute later they figured out that the rankings were wrong, and the number two seed, 88, was acutally first. But all was well, since we still got our first pick, 121. This is the first time we've ever played with 121, so we were excited to find out just how well two of the best ball 'bots in New England (the entire game?) worked together. Turns out, very well. We also got 131, a very capable goal grabber. When we started having electrical problems, they stepped in and went toe toe with everyone who tried to steal a goal. The final matches were hard fought, and the winners earned it. By the way, how many teams had radio problems? I know that we and 121 were plagued with poor connections. -Andy A. |

that was happening last year also at Mt. Olive Mania and Connecticut Bash At The Beach. My Suspicion is that maybe someone didn't hook everything up totally correctly. Seems like Last Year and This Year there have been some sort of Radio Problems at the team events. Maybe FIRST should set up all equipment at the team events rather then rent it out to the team and let the team set it up. Thats my opinion unless FIRST actually helps set up the equipment. Anyone Disagree or Agree.

-loose cable within the field enclosure(would affect possibly an entire side) -bad competition port cable(normally recommended change out at lunch each day - would only affect one station) -bad db-25 going from the master controller to the field(would affect an entire side) -too many fluctuations in the power supply(would most likely affect everybody) The way the kit is shipped has channels and other settings all pre-set, and all that needs to be done upon arrival at an event site is plug everything in.... - |

RiverRage had all sorts of problems getting started. I'm not sure that 811 had a match that started the first time the announcer said "go." Powersupply problems would not surprise me a bit.
They didn't really have all the seedings calculated or at least ready to report. There were problems with the scoring program because they had to leave out a bunch of the scheduled matches or we'd have still been there well into the night. |
