I'm a new freshman at johns hopkins university in baltimore and an alumna of team 88, TJ², from bridgewater, MA. (ohyeah?? Ohyeah!!) I'm going to try to start a new team from the university but, although no one here seems to know about it, according the to FIRST site hopkins already sponsors a team. Does anyone either belong to the team (#768, I think) or know anything about it?? Any/all information would be greatly appricieated!! Thanks.

Greg graduated from woodlawn, and is now going to RIT.
Lenny threatened to quit 768 (then again, he's done that every year) Your best bet is to contact Greg, and find out who the real person to contact is (teacher, professor, etc). I haven't seen Greg on aim recently, but if I do, then I'll point him to this thread BTW, Michael, Greg hasn't posted since the end of april. I don't know what your sense of recently is :-p |

Lenny knows about 768
If you need team 768 info, contact me, aim screenname ninratmny or call my extension 3117 and we can talk. I have two other people that worked with the team and we have been talking about starting a team closer to hopkins.

There's also some interest for Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory to actually sponsor a team this year. Although the University and the Laboratory are fairly different overall.

THE APL is really far from campus and so it would be very difficult for us to work with them. Our ideal situation is to work with a school right by campus because of obvious transportation problems for the students. If we found a school, I think the funding wouldn't be a major issue for next year, however this year it is probably already kind of late to start but I think we will actually hold some kind of meeting on campus for everyone who is interested. I've meet a bunch of freshmen wearing their robotics shirts so there is definitely some interest to get something going.

I'm Sam, head of Robotics for Team 768
Hey man. I'm Sam, head of the Robotics team at Woodlawn High School (Team 768). Sorry for seeing your post so late, but this year was an extremely work-intensive year for us.
You can PM me for information on what you can do with us for the rest of the year, or (most likely) what you want to do about next year. It'd be great to have you work with us, I'm looking forward to your response. It's true, Greg has graduated and now attends RIT (heh, I wonder how he likes the weather up there), and haven't heard from Lennyat all this year. Thank for your interest. Waiting to hear from you! -Sam Last edited by Al Skierkiewicz : 22-01-2015 at 08:10. Reason: Poster requested. |
