COMMS HELP NEEDED
Hi!
Today I tried to connect to a new RoboRIO on our robot. I had a ton of problems connecting through the OM5P-AN. Basically, I had already used the OM5P-AN with a different roboRIO, and when it wouldn't connect I figured that I needed to reset and re-configure the OM5P-AN. After some problems, I finally accomplished that. But I still couldn't connect. Then I tried an old D-Link, still not luck. Physical ethernet tethers didn't work, so I tried re-imaging it. It wouldn't show up on scans. Then, I just put in an old roboRIO and I still couldn't connect. But, I can ping it just fine. I re-imaged that old one and it worked, but then when I try to get into the web dash with ethernet I got this error: "Could not retrieve configuration data from target. This could mean that the target's web server is temporarily unavailable or that your installation is corrupted. Please refresh your browser. If this problem persists, please contact National Instruments support." I don't know what to do at this point. My firewalls are down, and I am running Windows 10. Recap: I can connect via USB to web dash. I can ping the roboRIO. I can't connect via ethernet to the Webdash. I can connect via USB to driver station. I can't connect via ethernet to DS. Re: COMMS HELP NEEDED
Firstly, have you updated driver station? When you open driver station, the name of the window should be 16.0.1 or something like that.
Secondly, have you tried connecting the RoboRIO to your driver station with ethernet, skipping over the router? If you can't connect this way, then there is probably something wrong with the ethernet port, or even the RoboRIO itself. Worst comes to worst, just reinstall all FRC software and reimage the RIO. Good luck! |

Re: COMMS HELP NEEDED
Version 16.0.1 for the DS.
I am connected directly to the RoboRIO. I guess I will try reinstalling all FRC software. Thanks for the help! |

Re: COMMS HELP NEEDED
No problem!
If reinstalling & re imaging doesn't work, I would also check that you are either using roboRIO-####-frc.local or 10.##.##.2 when you connect through a web browser. If you still can't connect, try running Code:
arp -a |

Re: COMMS HELP NEEDED
If USB works and an ethernet cable doesn't, please check the control panel settings to see if the laptop is setup for DHCP. The USB is an ethernet protocol bridged over USB.

Re: COMMS HELP NEEDED
We had a very similar problem.
We did this -- http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/...o-for-home-use Then we reinstalled and updated our driver station. Now it works. |
