CIMcoder Help? Make the Red LED Go Away

Can someone point me to help for a CIMcoder? We've looked at Vex, AM, CRTE, check wiring setup etc. But we just have a LED on RED with no response. Best resource?

If the LED is red on the encoder, that's good. If the LED's are red on the talon, that's bad. Which is it?

The LED on the encoder is RED; that is good? Man I've really messed this up.

If the LED on the encoder is red, that means it is working, which is good. If you are not getting a signal, check and make sure that the wires going into the breakout board are soldered correctly. If you still are not getting a signal, try adding pull-up resistors to the breakout board, that's what worked for us.
