LOTR:TT sweeeeet! ^_^!

I have seen a couple of new screens for Lord of the Rings: Two Towers, and it kicks major arse!!! Seeing Aragorn taking up his roots is sweet. And I saw the dvd special, and it looks pretty sweet.

Yeah, I'm a very big fan... read the books too much and watched the Fellowship of the Ring 7 times in theaters and like fifteen some times when I got the DVD when it was released in the first week... Have you seen the online petition against the Two Towers... I forget the URL but the people were such idiots... a common quote was, "How could a man be so insensitive to make a movie about 9/11 so soon after the tragic event?" Wow, the dumb people in this society...*sigh*

That is dumb. Especially cause the movies were all made like 3 years ago and they are just releasing them now. Some people are such idiots some times.

P.S. if you could find that URL that would be great

P.P.S. LOTR rocks

I love the people who hate the Segways because they think there little cars. How running one into somebody will kill them instantly. I heard of this petiton last year soon after 9-11 and some people did know about the LOTR link and some didn't. Those who said they did know said that the name should be changed, but please. Just because two towers are used, dosn't mean it's a direct reflection of the Twin Towers. Gee, how insensitve we can get. Instead we replace it with stupidity. There are many other two towers. The current tallest towers in the world are twins.

theres a whole long, long list of things that people started thinking up after 9/11, an event that should mean something entirely different that what it turned into. but on the lines of LOTR, the fellowship was so amazing that i went out and bought the books, and i'm in the two towers now. i can't wait for the movie to come out, opening night, new digital theater opening up nearby my house. i think i saw the fellowship 4 times in theaters...and who knows how many times i have watched my dvd

I didn't like FotR. I haven't read the books, and I know the movie ends like the book, but jeez that was a crappy ending. Sure it's a continuing story, but couldn't they have set a secondary goal that they could complete in one movie, instead of just going and going and going and oops movie ends.

I sincerely doubt the intention of the makers of the LotR movies was to somehow preclude the necessity of reading the original books. I think these movies are supposed to be a supplement to the original novels, and shouldn't be seen out of that context.

I don't think it was at all feasible for the creators of the movies to end the first segment without having it be a huge let-down for many of the people who never bothered to read the books.

I hadn't finished FoTR by the time I saw it in theaters, but I was quite pleased with it. I knew the concept, and how it was just the first installment of the epic series, so it didn't bother me that the story of the first movie ended in the way that it did.

Since the first movie came out, I've finished the first and second books, and am just starting the third. I am very excited about the second and third movies.

I first read LotR about a quarter century ago, and just before I went to live in Middle Earth. I figured that since I was going to live there I should know something about the place.

I became an immediate and diehard fan. Having sat through the Bakshi version when it was in the theatre, I was very concerned about the latest version. Just how bad was it going to be?

I was pleasantly surprised with the first part. Yes there are a few alterations, honestly I think they were acceptable. The movie is almost three hours long already and the deletions would not have added much. Even though they cut out one of my favorite characters, Tom Bombadil in the process.

I think that doing all three parts at once was a great help to the production staff. It helped maintain continuity of vision and saved having to rebuid sets if the movies were successful. It also meant that they were COMMITED. They had to do it right or not at all.

We are currently finishing TT as my son's bedtime reading. Hopefully we will finish before the movie comes out. I just hope they don't cut out Treebeard.

FYI: Middle Earth is the name of a dorm complex at UC Irvine. I spent four years living in Lothlorien, though we usually shortened it to Lorien. Not as nice as the one in the books, but not a bad place either.

I never did learn Elvish though,

Another reason all three were done at once was so if something were to happen to one of the actors (i.e. accidents, deaths, other movies etc) they wouldn't have to worry about recasting.

On behalf of Mr. Sparda, go to Apple, then Quicktime, then movie trailers to see it.

Thank you.

Thanks Joe. I was a little busy and just had to find time to waste on you pathetic losers J/K
I was downloading so much manga and anime onto my iBook, I just didn't have space on the screen to start posting stuff. But yeah, its apple.com, click on Quicktime button, and then go to movie trailers, and there is some pretty cool stuff there. The only trailer that I know of that lets you download anything is the Two Towers trailer. Sweetness.
Signing out. Love and Peace y'all (if you've seen the anime Trigun, you'll know what I mean).
