Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
Wire it to the VRM. This year the robot radio is 12 V so you have the 5 V 2A connectors free.

Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
We are using an Intel Compute Stick this year too. The VRM 5v 2A should work fine, but for an even easier solution, we just plugged a short USB to micro USB phone charging cable right into one of the RoboRio's USB ports. It powers the Intel stick just fine.

Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
All you need to do is strip a USB cable and connect + and - into the 5V 2A output on the VRM. Using a USB hub might work, although you probably don't need to do that.

Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
Just curious, what are people using the ICS for? is this in place of a raspberry Pi for vision processing?

Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
I'm pretty sure that is what it is most useful for. A compute stick is significantly more powerful than the Pi in a smaller form factor.

Re: Tips On Powering Intel Compute Stick
You got it. The intel stick we bought on Amazon shipped with Windows 10. We are using RoboRealm, which is included in the kit of parts, to process the images from an axis camera. RoboRealm has nodes to communicate with the RoboRio by using the network tables. It also supports multiple scripting languages to automate some of the process.
