Shipping labels
OK. I'm feeling like a complete idiot here. But I need to ask this.
What labels do I need to put on the crate that goes to Champs? We have a robot crate. No batteries inside. The email I received from FIRST had this line: Print four (4) copies of each document and sign Bills of Laden. Attach documents to crate (one BOL on each side of the crate), with the shipping label on topThe docs I got in the email were
I'm putting a shipping label on each of the four sides of the robot, and the consignee sheet on the front. Does the BOL with my signature really get placed on the outside of the crate. |

Re: Shipping labels
Yep.
Think of it this way, your robot is stacked in the truck with much other stuff. It's hard to spin that crate around. They would like to pull the info from the nearest face. Nobody wants to make the guy with the forklift unhappy!! Last edited by Foster : 16-04-2016 at 17:58. |

Re: Shipping labels
The Bill of Lading goes to the driver of the shipping truck picking your crate up.
I usually leave ours in an open pocket on the front of the crate - easy to see and get to if I don't happen to be there for the crate pickup. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 16-04-2016 at 19:59. |

Re: Shipping labels
Another trick is to put your return label underneath the St Louis label. When you ship back you just have to pull the outside label and you are ready to come home. If you use a plastic holder of some sort fastened to your crate this is easy.

Re: Shipping labels
Thanks for the info.
I've plastered shipping info on all five visible sides of the crate. As we're shipping the second to last day allowed, I'm just hoping everything goes well once it leaves the school! |
