Post-Finals Beach Balls

Is there any reason to put these out into the audience? I have seen several pits hit by them and even seen a driver station topple to the ground.

Re: Post-Finals Beach Balls

I think that they're here for entertainment and something while teams and field crews are down at Einstein. They probably didn't think that the balls would get to the pit areas, or at least that it'd be avoided as much as possible.

Re: Post-Finals Beach Balls

I thought they where awsome. Yes stuff got hit including my own. Several landed in 987s pit. We just grabed the ball and threw it into the crowd. They where a great adition to the finalie and I would love to see them again. They also do a great job of giving students something to do other than make paper airplanes.
