Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

1114 and 148 had a very clever way of doing it this year. 2056 did it in a very compact and elegant way that inspired me to figure out how it worked.

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

610 should be up there, their hang was incredibly consistent and their ability to shoot a high goal while hanging is awesome. Also 1114 and 148 because theirs facilitates a triple hang.

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

There are dozens of teams that scaled. When you say "the best scaling robots", is that the best robots that also scaled, the robots with the "best" scale, the best robots that exclusively scaled, or the robots with cool and different scaling methods?

I can't think of any exclusive scalers, but most cool scalers IMO came from teams that also opted to low bar and had to come up with creative ways to extend from not even 16" off the ground to the height of the bar.
other innovations like that inspire me.

I guess what I mean is the ones that did it well, often, unique, or quick.

I dig 1058's climber, and they had a more-than-solid performance/repeatability with it

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

In terms of draw dropping reveal video scales, 118 has got to be up there.

Yeah, I was surprised that nobody mentioned 118's grappling hook. It didn't always work during matches, but when it did, it was a sight to behold.

Re: Best Scaling Bot This Season?

I'd have to agree that 2056's compact climber design is really nice, yet their telescoping towers are quite wide-set. This can make lining up on the narrow climbing-bar more difficult for the driver, and we see them utilizing their human player in the spy box for that purpose. This could make their total climb process slightly slower and more finicky, compared to teams with a more narrow-set climber grasp or a more fool-proof line-up design such as 33's over-the-bar grasper.
