Show off your custom clipboards!

At Champs I saw so many neat custom clipboards with drawings of the field, magnetic defenses, etc. As my clipboard is currently boring and blank, I'm curious to see what designs you all have!

Also, does anyone have a line drawing of the field? I'd like to laser etch the field on my whiteboard/clipboard but I can't seem to find a suitable file.

Re: Show off your custom clipboards!

I'd like to thank 1986 to giving all the teams at the GKC regional a very nice clipboard with a little encouragement on it and a field diagram on the other side. Probably the nicest regional gift we've gotten (other than that door stop whose team number has since faded away). I'll see if I can grab a picture of it next time I'm in the shop.

Re: Show off your custom clipboards!

Since Chezy Champs 2015, I have been printing out a simple top view field layout (usually in the manual somewhere) and putting it in a sheet protector. Last season i got a bit fancier with magnets and whiteboard tape for robots/defenses, but regardless everything costs a few dollars at a place like office depot and really helped a lot with strategy dicsussions and match planning. If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm and I would be happy to dig around our shop and find last year's board to take a picture.

I'll just leave this here: http://youtu.be/X0yxShc8ZQ8

On a more serious note, we just drew the field from scratch for convenience. Then we bought a big piece of whiteboard from Home Depot and laser etched the design on. I really liked how it turned out, but one of our strategy mentors complained it was way too big - it was significantly larger than a normal clipboard.

Here's the file we used to laser etch: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3e...ew?usp=sharing

Re: Show off your custom clipboards!

We have been doing this for a few years now. We start with a dry erase clipboard, and then use automotive pin striping to layout the field graphic. The use of blue and red on the diagram is pretty helpful.

Team Neutrino made a strategy whiteboard and magnet set that we found to be very useful. More information and pictures are available here. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

Re: Show off your custom clipboards!

My company has made them on and off for years. Actually were one of the first to do it and bring them to the market long time ago and sold at AM.

Re: Show off your custom clipboards!

We got some custom boards printed up here: http://mywhiteboards.com/custom-printed-lap-boards.html
We got the 1-sided 9 x 12 boards.

You submit your artwork as either a vector art file or a high resolution jpg. They'll have an in-house artist check it out and if things are good, they'll print them up. They take 2-3 weeks or so, which isn't bad if you submit the artwork during build season. We had to order a minimum of 6 (I believe), so we handed them out to other teams. At $6/piece, not bad.
