FIRST Choice Round 1: Slight Delay & a Tweak
Written by the FIRST Robotics Competition Kit of Parts Team.


Internal issues caused a delay in part assignment, and as a result, FIRST Choice Round 1 results won’t be shared with teams until Friday, 12/9. Additionally, we’re moving the opening of FIRST Choice “regular” ordering until 12/13 (starting at Noon, Eastern Time). We’ll update FIRST and AndyMark sites where these dates are referenced.

Also, we meant to present the 1.94 in. and 2.55 in. spacers as packs of eight, not singles. We’re fixing that: the credit value will stay at five, the website will be updated, and the shipments will be kits of eight.

Thank you for your understanding, and please accept our apologies for the delay and the change in product details.

I'm curious if the delay was caused by teams trying to max out credits or items in their list because that would be really funny.

Man ........ I was pumped coming into work today and expecting good news on our FC wish list. Now I have that same feeling I had as a kid when I realized that Santa wasn't coming again this year.

UGH... I wish you hadn't told me that. I knew it was going to be close...

Also, I won't confess to having used a script to do it! NEVER! I'm guessing I missed something in the manual portion that I did.

It was also on the Behind the Lines epsiode. Jerry Budd (from AndyMark) offered to pay $20 of the shipping charges for the team that submitted the priority list with the most items on it.

I believe Kate Pilotte offered to match him on the FUN episode, but I can't confirm.

Jerry put up $20 towards shipping to the team that put the most items on their list. Kate Pilotte then put up $20 for the team with the most line items on their list. Marshall missed out on both by thaaaaaaaaaaat much.

Jeez! Rub it in! I came up a couple items short on purpose just to prove I could do it. I just didn't want to deprive Jerry of $20.

Somehow I missed notification about FIRST Choice this year, but from what I'm seeing on the list of things available, I don't think I missed much. Although Green Shaft collars are kind of cool. :-)

Hopefully I won't miss Round 2 and I'll see something worth getting.

We missed round 1 last year. Round 2 turned out to be excellent for us. We ended up receiving our top pick, 2 ADIS16448 IMU's. Now I am not saying you get a boost by missing round 1, it just worked that way for us.

Missing round 1 is not a big issue.
