It says in the manual that you are allowed to have a laptop computer powered by battery, so I don't see any reason you couldn't store a playbook on it.

Why would you want a playbook?

have to agree with yangotang...
with such short games, everything needs to up in your head, not down on paper

i may be wrong but usually play books are used to plan the movements of a team of people or in this case robots. I mean boxers dont use play books. So unless you are going to give the play book to every one of your allies im not sure what good it would do.

How would having a playbook hurt? If done properly, it can be very useful. For example: "When facing a team of two stackers, ignore their stacks and make your own"
A lot more thought can be put into strategy if it is done beforehand, not made up on the spot.

yeah ok i see what your saying general strategies to employ when facing certain types of robots. Id hope you would lay a plan ahead of time when you saw the pairings rather then madly flipping through a play book on stage trying to find out which program you should use when you are allied with a king of the hill robot and paired against an under the bar bully bot and a stacker. Dang things can get kind of complex maybe a play book would be in order this year

yea, I didn't mean making up strategies as you played the game.

you scout your opponents and allies, judge their abilities, and then make your strategy

This is for the purpose of running a dashboard program. I do not believe you are allowed to have other programs running in the background.

At least, that's the impression I'd been given in year's passed.
