I have a few questions.
Are we allowed to use mouse pads, foam core or perhaps rubber for traction on a device to be lowered from the bottom of the robot? Specifically, rule M17 states that traction devices may be bought or manufactured, implying that a material like foam core would be allowed on the robot. On the other hand however, rule K2 states that "if a part category [traction devices] does not list the part [foam core] you wish to use, then it is not allowed." Could you please provide clarification of these rules. REPLY ASAP thanks Parth ![]() |

You can use any traction material you want on the robot from wherever, just as long as you are mounting it on your own custom wheels and not off-the-shelf wheels.
Otherwise... you can use any off-the-shelf wheels you want... but you can't add anything to them. Beware... your traction material cannot protrude into the ramp grid at all. Whatever you buy, simulate a 30lb or so load on the ramp grid to see if it protrudes at all. Unless if you don't plan on going up the ramp at all... then it's all good.
