pneumatic system pressure

view me as a pneumatic idiot..... in somewhat stupid terms, explain to me how you get a stored 120 if the system is at 60 psi??

also, why is the relief valve on the pressure (which says it releases at 120 psi) tripping at around 60-70 psi? is it just defective? or am i missing something obvious?

sorry if this has been answered, but what i can understand doesn't talk about this

Me being a programmer and all should probaly not answer but here goes.

The Pump will be directly connected to the tanks giving you as much pressure as want up to 120 psi. Then before the air can be used it must go through a regulator which will regulate it to a max of 60 psi. As for the relief valve on the pump I am not sure why yours is not allowing the full pressure.

the rules say something or other about the regulator having to be the first thing in the series (compressor-regulator-tanks, not the other way around).

Regulator Maxes out at 60 psi so if it is before it the it will not get to 120 psi. I think the rules say that the order is pump-tank-regulator-system.

Here's an example of what your pneumatics could look like. This is the FIRST 2003 Demonstration Board:
