Steering
This is the best shot of our two wheel steering up front, that combined w/ the rotating arm makes for some crazy handling ability.

Sweet
Sweet bot... I really like the front steering. This thing can probably get up the ramp quickly also.
That arm looks strong in the front/back direction... the picture doesn't really show how strong it is from side to side. Depending on what you do with it, it may need to be strong in that direction or not. The articulation on the end of the arm is really sweet... that means these guys can pick up a tote in an orientation and place it where they want. With a strong base and a mobile/flexible arm, these guys look like they can do more than just stack. They appear to be a good partner for both a koh and a stacker robot. Andy B. |

The front arm rotates 45 degrees in either direction from front, giving us plenty of room to stack. Also, with a KoH robot we can still go under the bar. We make it up the ramp in under 4.

That's an industrial grade robot. I'm guessing you can lift stack too, right?

we can pull push stacks and grab onto them with our arm, but we cant take a stack off the floor b/c its to much weight way out in front, one thing we can do though is take more than one box of the top of a stack b/c the arm is up and the weight is over the wheels

Great Job
Great Job!!! Your robot looks great.
What are you using for traction material out on the ends of the arms? Is that cardboard? Well if it works well, great. I would have never thought about that one. Wish we were seeing you this year in competition. Well I guess there is always a chance to see you at Nationals, we can only hope!! Again great job!! Hope to see ya at Nationals |

Thanks a lot!! no its not cardboard, its this foamy stuff that works pretty well for us, were still lookin for something with more friction though, and we might end up using this stuff that put under a rug so that it doesnt move.

Picking up Stacks
That arm was fun to build. It all depends on where the stack is relative to us as to how many boxes we can pick up, the closer it is, the better. We can pull about 4 boxes off the top of a stack if need be, or just knock them all off the stack.
