Can you modlify the tourqe motor?

Is there a rule that prevents us gearing up the orange box torque motor? Right now it takes 50 seconds to make one complete cycle. Tooo slow. So I opened it up and found that there is a direct gear to moving mechanism. On the left side of the motor.
I don't need it to lift anything, just guiding something, but it is convenient for what we had in mind.
