Brandon,
Just a thought, but if your interested, it would be nice to have a CAD subforum under the "technical discussion" forum to help those who are interested in CAD support. I'm willing to help in any way. ![]() |

I wasn't going to ask this until someone brought it up...
so -- thanks for asking ![]() This is your chance to recommend new sub-forums or even main-forums. There has been a ton of new people talking and a ton of new topics coming up again and again. So -- reply with any new forums/sub-forums that you feel we need .. or ones you think we don't need. Let's all give input before I go making/removing a few. (and no, removing a forum will not kill the threads, they just have to be transferred somewhere first..) Anyway.... 2 suggestions so far Ed's suggestion: CAD my suggestion: Battlebots. |

and if you dont want a certain forum in the 'All New' list ... then subscribe to every forum you WANT to see (even if that means subscribing to all forums but one or two), and click 'New Subscribed' .. that way you get all the desired threads, and you can go back to the other stuff during your free time ![]() |

I think we need to split the "technical discussion" into several subforums, such as:
Programming/Electronics Motors Pneumatics Materials CAD/Inventor I think sub-forums like these will help make it easier to browse the tech discussion forum. |

Being a programmer, I would rather see the two in their own subforums. |

Combined CAD/Animation forum?
Quote:
Also, I as our team's CAD guy would rather see the CAD and Animation split up int two sections. Inventor and 3DS Max are two completely different programs and the awards (Animation/Inventor) are two different ones with completely different requirements, too. At least I don't see a place where I could post Inventor questions at the moment, unless the "Animation" section is supposed to include Inventor (Is it?). Anyway, the forums are altogether just great and a good communication medium and however the forums are going to be structured in the future, I am happy that we can at least post all questions concerning technical problems (I think a working 'bot without a CAD drawing is better than a CAD drawing without a working 'bot...). Great work (the forums, I mean)! |

I think it would be great if we have a "Robots" sub-forum now that everyone keep posting in General to show off their robot design. I suspect a lot of people will be doing this, so might as well have a "Robots" sub forum under technical discussion...
So people can talk about specific robots. Especially in General, where a lot of people replied for the posts of "sneak peaks", it's easy to miss out other important discussions. Just a suggestion anyway. ![]() |

How about subdividing the white papers forum? It would probably be reasonable to have a white papers section for each of the technical discussion subforums mentioned above.

Current Events??
How about one thread for "current non FIRST related events" like for example the Olympics and current events in general.
