new Image Gallery and White Paper system

vB3 beta comes out tomorrow, supposedly. I plan on installing it and letting people play around on it for a while, until they actually make an official release.

But, now that I have the new code, I will be able to begin on the new white papers and image gallery, and I would like your input.

What would you like to see changed or added to the White Papers area?

yes. Extensive searching will be the first thing I add.

Yes, it should be a communist image gallery.

Or, more appropriately, would it be possible to give more control to the user over the pictures they upload?

Particularly, the ability to set Who Am I pictures as our user pictures and to delete pictures when they become irrelevant or outdated would each be nice.

Similar function on the White Papers section could be nice, too. But, as someone who's never uploaded one, I don't really know what features I'd like.

A things I will be adding that I forgot to mention:

1) Ability to input a URL, and have the image be fetched and stored on the chiefdelphi server.
2) Ability to input a URL, and have the image be shown via the other server.

I may add image editing tools, too. So, if you upload a picture and then go to view it and notice it is rotated 90 degrees clockwise, you will be able to rotate it and/or resize it. Maybe even add a title or something. Who knows.

hehe... and you're worring about server load now??

I'd hate to see ship day when people upload 500k pics and then decide to photoshop them usign cd's server

but no...

The other suggestion would be with the picture gallery to be able to view the sub-categoires on the main page

ex:

-2003
     -Robots
     -Regionals
     -Championship Event
     ...

I was fine w/ the cd gallery. (but do put in that search - it will save valuable minutes on this cable modem!! )
