Beta Testers

We would like to invite testers to download our beta code, run it and find bugs. We want to make sure that all bugs are revealed before the real code release.

If you would like to be apart of this beta testing group then please list your name here. We do not wish to make testing public yet because e are not sure how stable the code.

We only want a small group of people testing the system, then once we make sure that it is stable enough we will then release another testing stage.

During this testing stage we will be accepting patches from the testers.

It may be worth mentioning here that read-only CVS access is available for those wishing to be on the 'bleeding edge' of openFIRST development. However, be warned: things in CVS will often break, or do things other than they are intended to do (or nothing at all). Releases that are made available in a more easily downloadable format are generally more stable.

That said, the currently released files are from quite some time ago, and much of the openFIRST system has been redesigned since this time. This means that the Live Demos on the site are the easiest way to test openFIRST software out (the Live Demos use a version that was originally from CVS, but are not currently at the bleeding edge anymore). To access the Live Demos, go to http://openfirst.sourceforge.net and click on modules, then Live Demo beside which ever module you wish to try.

At some point within the next two weeks there will be a new release made on the Source Forge.net file system (exams will be over for all members of the development team as of the end of Friday the 20th). We ask that before this time, testers obtain a CVS version or test using the Live Demo and submit items via the Bug Reports portion of the openFIRST site.

When you ask to test please make sure you list all your server specs.

- Operating System
- Version of PHP/ASP
- Server Name and Version Number
- Basic comp specs
