Well - over here in MI - you can't have anything that leaves the ground, spins, or explodes. You re ONLY allowed to have sparklers...

You still can get some good stuff if you know where to look though!

I like bottle rockets, creater creators, and others...

Does that apply only to private citizens, or are public displays subject to the same law?

The other day, my brother, some friends, and I went onto my roof around 11 and started shooting off bottle rockets and mortars - good times (of course, the legality of such actions in New York State may or may not be in question ;-)). For the 4th of July, people all around me were shooting off fireworks - firecrackers, bottle rockets, mortars, more fireworks, etc. I think there were so many people that the police just gave up on trying to crack down on it. There was this one person a neighborhood or two over - the guy must have had over a thousand dollars worth of mortars and the like. He went on until about midnite or so... I have no idea how the cops didn't find him - a lot of what he used were clear beacons right to his front yard. But then again, I wasn't complaining about it.

I forget the name of it but its 75 bucks and you half to put it in a hole 4 feet deep... it's like a bomb... its awesome!!!

You need a license to launch anything big. So public displays can have the big usual stuff, but they need a permit for it.

Actually now that I think of it that poll is false to me... You say legal stuff... In Taxachusetts we don't get to have any fireworks... Well we set them off at my house anyway...

Mortars all the way I don't think anyone really cares if they're legal in Indiana or not.. but I do know you have to buy some like 2 dollar slip when you buy them... but I forget what it's for. Maybe some Indiana person can describe what they're for. *ahem* but the point is, fireworks are the best!

I live in Indiana, and this year it appeared that they stopped the whole buying a slip thing. I remember back in 2001 they made you pay a few bucks for this stupid piece of paper that said you would not light them in enclosed areas, and stuff like that. Last year (2002) they had it where you didn't have to buy the card, just sign a contract (simmilar to 2001's) for no charge.

This year, I spent way to much money at firework stores all over Northwest Indiana, and at no location was I ever asked to buy a card or sign a slip.

Note: Best Firework- Ones you build you'reself. To bad I didn't get a video of my 1800 missle shots. It took 16 minutes. It was pretty cool.
