3 Questions!!! (2/3/04)

Hi all, here are today's 3 Questions...

1. What was the point value for capturing the tennis ball raised up over the center of the field in Maize Craze?

2. What was the weight limit for a robot in Ramp n' Roll?

3. What type of batteries were used to power robots in 1996? (looking for the name of the company who makes the battery, as well as the type)

Good Luck!

1: 25 points

2: 70 lbs

3: Skil Cordless drill battery pack - Part No. HD92831 We still have some laying around.

On second thought, these were probably from 1997.

1. 25 points
2. 70 pounds
3. Milwaukee cordless drill batteries (2 of em) - the charging stations in the pits were a sight to see. (FIRST took care of charging the batteries, meaning there was a very long table with hundreds of red Milwaukee chargers all in a row).

This was one of the years when FIRST was responsible for charging batteries for all the teams. I think they ended up with a huge backlog, leaving certain teams without batteries for matches.

Re: 3 Questions!!! (2/3/04)

People were being given uncharged batteries cause FIRST couldn't charge them fast enough..

I also recall a team who was using double the batteries on their robot... and no one at FIRST noticed during inspection or anything...
