OI power

Okay so I asked earlier and nobody gave me any specific responses, but exactly how much power is coming to each team's competition power-port? It is my understanding this is the only power we are allowed to generate. If no one knows, what guage is the wire? I checked the OI manual regarding the competion port and I got no power-specifics.

Thanks,

Team 1317 rep

It shouldn't matter to you. It's enough to operate the OI and it's associated outputs at the specifications given by the OI reference guide.

Re: OI power

the OI reference guide tells you which pins you are allowed to take power from on the 4 ports (joystick ports) and how much power you can draw from them

if you want to have something else powered at your drivers station, you have to run it off your own batteries.

from page 7 of the operators interface reference guide:

Quote:
[1] The DISABLE dipswitch on the Operator Interface
[2] LED drivers provide 5V at 10mA
[3] +5V Aux is to be used for potentiometers in Joysticks and custom I/O boxes.
[4] Do not use +5V Aux for lamps or LEDs.
