Science in my yearbook..

I got my yearbook last week. It includes a series of news events from the last year. I was amazed at how much news there was related to science. There was a picture of the Galileo spacecract and Hubble, the Wright flyer, Spirit, the discovery of the oldest known planet, the iBot 3000, the first chinese man in space, and a blurb about the rare Octopus Gianteus. There also happens to be a picture of a car/boat that is really cool. Not only is this a large amount of information I didn't even hear about some of these events. The only problem is that the picture of Spirit is right next to Busta Rhymes (even though it's about five times larger). Anyone who wants pictures I could upload it to chiefdelphi.

But lets focus on the most important part. Is your robotics team in your yearbook?

With all that cool stuff documented in your yearbook, there is really only one important question:

"Busta" who?

-dave

p.s. yes, I really know who he is. Just making a point.

I think the year-in-review goes in the senior edition of our school newspaper.

Re: Science in my yearbook..

I was looking back to an old yearbook to reminisce... (my freshman year of high school, or 2001-2002), and they had a whole page on our robotics team. Auter and Josh Harriger were just sophmores then and Josh Hambright was a junior, and they were all shown with gold and black face paint. The yearbook even tells of how we won the spirit award in Saint Louis. Back then I knew little about robotics, so I was also in the stands cheering. Back in the day our robot didn't do to well, but it was still a very fun year.

Opps... I forgot about that. Yeah we are. Almost all clubs are put into our yearbook whether they are related to sports or not. Though there is a few accidental ommissions.

I would say that it's evenly split between clubs, sports, and other pictures in my yearbook. In fact they probably had to omit all of the junior varsity sports.

A better question would be why is Busta Rhymes on the same page as Spirit. The section is named trends and technology. That's just odd.

The only robotics in our yearbook are from Science Olympiad (Think RCX in size, battle bots in brains). Of course, I'm the only person in our school who does FIRST...

Im not really sure about that. The robotics even from science olympiad is pretty complicated. It's just about an eight of the size of first.

Re: Science in my yearbook..

Our school, along with some other neighboring schools, don't get our yearbooks until the following fall....so this means no signatures and if you're a senior...the book gets shipped to you. I do hope that this year we'll be included in it...last year we kinda got "missed"
