2-3 minute Interview at Pit Table

My Seattle, Washington regional isn't until the end of this month, but I just read on www.usfirst.org today that FIRST judges will be coming around to the different pit tables and asking questions based on a "2-3 minute presentation."

What is this presentation???

What should I do???

I submitted my Chairman's Award to the site, should I make a posster or packet or just talk or what???

What did past team do???

Any help would be great, I don't quite understand.

Thanks a bunch, Ben

Just got back from Cleveland and we submitted at that regional event. The judges spend a few minutes asking questions regarding issues that they didn't seem to get out of the submission. They wer focused on only a couple of topics and there isn't a need for any additional presentation. Just make sure that you have the students prepared to answer questions about your program, your partnership, ect. The judges were friendly and pleasent to speak with. Goodluck - relax and have fun with it.

interviews

the interview wasn't bad. our reps (you are to have three student representatives go, or at least they did at drexel) just talked about what our team does in general. they mentioned our lego league teams, how we sponsored/mentored another team, how we're from nine different schools, etc.. off-hand I don't know how they weight the interview as compared to the actual submission, but having talked to our reps, they didn't seem to ask many questions besides clarifying things in the video. don't sweat it, as long as you have a couple of kids who know what your team is all about, you'll do fine.

My regional is still going on today, and I'll tell you that it is confusing how FIRST does their "interviews". At my regional no times were posted, and FIRST judges just wandered around the room. Myself and panel of two other sat at our table for a long while, and they never even came to interview us at all. I think next year they should announce it over the intercom or something, because this system doesn't work!

interviews

really? they didn't announce times? what regional were you at? at drexel they announced times and made sure that that wouldn't conflict with competitions for your team and everything. hope you guys did well at your regional.
