[SCRRF]: Meeting/Fall Classic

This Saturday is a meeting of the Southern California Regional Robotics Forum. Meetings are scheduled one month in advance by the attendees of the meeting. This month's meeting is scheduled for Saturday 10/16 at 9:00 a.m. at Rent.Com. It is in Santa Monica 90405. The address is 2701 Ocean Park Bl. Suite 140.

We require attendance from all teams, there is much to discuss. The discussions will center on SCRRF

Fall Classic

event, The Robotics Workshops and the upcoming season of FRC 2005. Have you registered for the SoCal Regional Competition yet????

We are still working on a call-in system so that distant attendees can still make it easily (S.D, Temecula, etc..)

If you can't attend please email me with your Name, Team # and Contact Phone #. These meetings really need support from at least one representative of each team.

Coffee and Donuts will be provided.

************************************************** **

Notes from last meeting...
Attendees were: Mark Miller (294), Paul Snape (362), Naomi Homayouni (599), Chris Husmann (330), Wendy Wooten (22),
Nancy McIntyre (1138) and Ric Roberts (330)

We had reports from Events and Development Committees, and a Report from the Regional Organizing Committee.

We talked about the IEEE Wescon Convention. We talked about the Robovation League and First Lego League. We talked about the

Fall Classic

on Nov 6th and the Workshops on Nov 13th. There is a new middle school robotics class at Archer School for Girls.

The meeting was over in 1 and 1/4 hours.

**************************************************
Directions are:

West on the 10 past the 405, get off at Bundy South (2nd Bundy Exit), go 2 lights after freeway to Ocean Park, go 3 or 4 lights to just past 28th St. on the right is a 2 story building 2701 Ocean Park Blvd. (city Santa Monica, zip is 90405). Park in front at the meters (feed them starting at 10:00) or across the street at Clover Park. Expect a 2 hour meeting. Call Mark on Cell 310.963.9334 if lost.

--------------------------------------------------

Also...

Upcoming SCRRF events in the fall that everyone needs to be aware of include the Annual

Fall Classic

which will take place at Chatsworth High School on Saturday, November 6, 2004. For those of you who may be new this is a scrimmage opportunity for teams to compete in the 2004 competition and participate in a variety of specialty events. The teams are able to come together and compete one last time with their latest creations. We will also be hosting the Fall Workshop Day at CSUN on Saturday, November 13, 2004 from 8:00- 5:30. This year, in addition to more than twenty five different workshops there will also be activities and demonstrations from colleges and local industry during the lunch break.

Thanks,

Mark Miller, MCSE(w2k), MCT, CCNP

President, SCRRF

Participate Help SCRRF find sponsors for it's events, namely the SoCal Regional, or have team members help out at competitions. At Fall Classic, we'll need students working the field as reset crew, queuers, ref's, etc. Talk to me or Ms. Wooten if you'd like more info.

Getting help? I know 294 and 22 actively help out other teams, and I'm pretty sure all other SCRRF teams would be happy to help in whatever they can do. Just ask.
