[OCCRA]: Question about Scores

I have a question about Match 12 at the Holly High school Regional. The posted Raw Score was 6 to 6, a tie. However, the Alliance of 247/placebo got 10 additional points (16 total) for the win. The alliance of 27/226 only got their raw score of 6 points. I am just confused on how this scoring works out. This may not seem like a huge deal (In fact, it wouldn't change the actual rankings as for as i know) but with the top 6 teams having a VERY close average score, these points mean a lot to Team 27 (currently ranked 5). If someone could correct this, or explain to me why the points worked out like they did, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex Hardy

I am working from memory here so lets see how good it is.

There cannot be a tie score, the arrow must decide.
One of several situations may have been enacted ( that was two regionals ago, I hope you understand I may not have a answer)

a. When the arrow position is exact using the orange tip we go to the the other end for a decision. The hole in the center is not exact so the opposite end will be different. That is why we painted and measure from a common end unless there is a problem like an exact arrow.
b. The score may have contained penalties that effected 1 or both sides.
c. Other - we turn in a score card at the end of the match and it is, checked for accuracy and recorded in a data base. The result is announced

Any problems/questions with a score should have been brought to the attention of the referee at the event. All results are announced at the end of each match. This is really the time to question a score.

Here is another possibility:
Score for team A and team B is 6 at the end of the match (3 tubies each). Team A has the arrow for 5 points. Team A also has a 5 point penalty (usually human player infraction) reducing the score back to 6. The arrow decides the win so team A gets the win and the 10 point bonus.

So, I have no definitive answer. I will ask Nate to look at the records and see if there are any notes on the match.
