CAD/CAM softwear
I recently got the CAD/CAM softwear called BobCad. It allows for you to open drawings of other softwear and drop a part into a CNC, and machine it throught computer. It would be pretty useful if it worked.
The problem is that the softwear doesnt support *.dwg files, which are the files that Inventor and AutoCad use for drawings. Does anyone know of a way to convert *.dwg files to another format? Thanks |

Re: CAD/CAM softwear
AutoCad/Inventor can save files into a number of different formats, one of which is surely compatible with your software (if it isn't, your software is junk). Just click File | Export... (at least in AutoCad) and select the filetype you wish to use.

Re: CAD/CAM softwear
Perhaps look into the IGES, STP and DXF file types.

Re: CAD/CAM softwear
Ah yes. That certainly helps. Thanks guys!
on a side note, does anyone else have BobCad? If so, how do you use it? (not literally, I mean what do you do, use its built in CAD or drop in drawings, if so from what softwear) |
