Atwood Motor cutout
I was told and belive that we experenced cutout on our drive system because we were transistioning from forward to reverse too fast with the Atwood motors. Has anyone else experenced this and if so how did you correct it.

That's probably because the circuit breakers are tripping from the increased current necessary to change direction very fast. I think the easiest way to improve it a bit would be a low pass digital filter. More info can be found on Innovation First's website

We've had some problems with the Atwood motors tripping the 30 amp breakers, but this was only because we were on better carpet than the playing field so we stalled the motors before losing traction. On the playing field we lose traction before the motors stall so it's not a problem.

we had major problems with breakers two weekends ago (SPBLI). then, at NYC we "de-frictionized" the drive train (added lots and lots of ball bearings). the only time we popped any more breakers was when we pushed a powerful robot down the field, and that only happened occasionally.
