What should I put on my programming jump drive?

I received a nice surprise at our meeting today - our programming team was handed two shiny, new 128 MB Lexar jump drives to be used in whatever ways we feel best. I was able to take one home with me because I volunteered to fill it with useful files. The intent of giving us the drive was to allow us to move code between our homes and meeting sites; since the four other members of the group and I all have our own jump drives, I've decided that loading this one up with anything that could be necessary for our team would be a good idea.

What I'd like would be suggestions as to what I should put on it. I've already got a few ideas for what will be going on it; as I have more ideas, I can edit this list and add files sizes to it as well. If anyone wants to use this as a basis for their own project, feel free to.

If I'm not mistaken, all of the files are either ZIP files, PDFs, or executables.

According to Windows, I have 31.8 MB left on the jumpdrive.

At the moment, I can't think of anything else to put on the drive; I think the posts in this topic have covered my oversights well, but I'm still more than willing to take suggestions.

If nothing else, maybe my list will be able to help inspire someone on another team to set up a similar set of files. You never know when they could be useful, after all...

Do you have a good text editor on there?

You can put knoppix on a jump drive if I remember correctly :-)

Also, PuTTY (an SSH client), is a must and get a good (not EMACS or notepad) text editor. VIM is good.

Yes, Putty, how did I forget that? Maybe an FTP app too.

Replace winzip with 7-Zip I'm not sure how big a fresh install is, but it supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB, its also open source

For FTP, I would recommend FileZilla

Text editor: Crimson Editor, cannot be beat.

i prefer 7-zip, if only because the winzip nag screen is irritating. also, some entertainment couldnt hurt, since you are obviously not lacking in space... although that could just be me(:

Maybe I missed something, but 128mb isnt that much space.... It should be enough for this stuff, but some of those pdf files arent exactly small, and if you put "entertainment" on there on top of that you might start having space issues. Really though I dunno. Im not a computer guy.

Okay...a few changes have been made to the list.

7Zip has replaced WinZip; freeware is good.
I've downloaded the FIRST rules now that USFirst.org is up again, along with the Field Elements guides.
PuTTY, Crimson Edit, and FileZilla have been added, because having those utilities just in case we need to reinstall them is a great idea.
The PIC18F8520 data sheet, PIC18 family reference manual, C18 user's guide, C18 libraries and C18 getting started guide are all on there as well, as they should have been from the start. Oops.
And finally, I've added the navigation software from Kevin's site; I was waiting for the updated version, but having this one until it's released can't hurt.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. With any luck, this means that we'll have anything we need to work on our code or to help other teams at competitions. I'm still open to suggestions, but I think we might be able to tackle most of our problems now.

All of these are ZIP files, with the exception of the Firefox folders, the WinZip executable, and the guides and manuals (both PDFs).

At the moment, I can't think of anything else to put on the drive, although I'm sure there's something else I'm forgetting. I don't have the files sizes for all of the files as I don't have all of them yet; the FIRST website isn't loading for me at the moment so I can't access the manual.

Again, I'm willing to take any and all suggestions for files to add to the drive. If I've still got room, I'm considering adding ZDOOM for a bit of stress relief, but FIRST comes...well, first.

If nothing else, maybe my list will be able to help inspire someone on another FIRST team to set up a similar set of files. You never know when they could be useful, after all...
