Re: pic: 229 "Bling" for 2005
I'll choose door number two, Bob.
The 2nd one is sweet. The 1st one has too many holes in it - It looks like swiss cheese. ::Edit:: Those treads look familiar. Our wheels are gonna be more pimp than yours, though .Last edited by Swan217 : 31-01-2005 at 07:38. Reason: More Thoughts... |

Re: pic: 229 "Bling" for 2005
IN MY OPINION, THE SECOND ONE IS DEFENETLY BETTER BECAUSE THE FIRST ONE LOOKS LIKE IF YOU HAD MADE HOLES TO REDUCE WEIGHT AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT LOOKS REALLY COOL.

the one on the right
They need to be green anodized, and then assembled with yellow anodized spinners. ... and then, on the spinners, you can etch "JVN is a dweeb". That would be cool. ![]() Andy B. |

Re: pic: 229 "Bling" for 2005
Those look familiar
Although we welded our flange onto the purchased rims. I assume you milled these. BEAUTIFUL! I'm a right winger myself. I see you riveted the seams on. We found some incredible glue to hold that on without any mechanical fasteners. I was asked not to divulge, but I'll give a hint - shoe repair. |

Quote:
The reason we went with rivets instead of adhesive is for ease of changing tread at competition. All we have to do is drill out 4 rivets and pop 4 more back in to the new tread. We have tried adhesives in the past and the problem is usually drying time and excess glue on the wheel when changing tread. If you have found a glue which works well, that is excellent. Eric |

Re: pic: 229 "Bling" for 2005
The wheel on the left looks familiar to me for some reason, John...

But, wouldn't spinners add a little too much weight for what they are worth, but hey that's an IRI idea for teams to do! ![]() |

I really like the one on the right. It looks awesome. How long did it take to machine those monsters?
