Very nice looking robot, I'm curious as to how you grab the tetras with your arm.

it took me a while to, I was distracted by the large "U bar" and the end of their arm. at the end of it there seems to a small hook to grab a tetra. The U bar also seems to have some purpose as well. Exactly what I can't be sure

looks awesome! good luck

Re: pic: Team 56 Almost Done

the hook at the back flips out and hooks onto the tetra while the brass thing keeps the tetra aligned? my best guess. sexy bot.

My guess is that the hoop/U bar is designed to block tetras from being placed on a goal...it will be positioned above a goal to prevent more tetras from being added.

Wink Re: pic: Team 56 Almost Done

ROBBE will be appearing at the Sacramento, NJ and Philly regionals. Looking forward to getting started with the competitions.

The arm/gripper does have several functions. I'll explain the design after the ship date.

Re: pic: Team 56 Almost Done

The drive train is 4WD using 8" pneumatic go-kart racing slicks. The drive wheels are located in the front and center positions. We put casters in the back to improve the turning radius and help get out of tight places. It provides a good balance of speed (8 fps) and maneuverability. It's actually easier to driver than last years model.

By the way how is 303 coming along.

Re: pic: Team 56 Almost Done

ROBBE weighed in at 117 lbs. without the battery. This maybe the first year we don't spend the last weekend drilling holes.
